Abstract
[Abstract]: According to different reports, Spain is below the average of the EU in terms of mathematical performance. Several researchers have thought of different solutions to solve this problem, including the use of magic tricks in the classroom. The objective of this work is to analyze if there is any improvement in the student after implementing a teaching unit based on the use of magic. To this end, activities have been designed to combine magic with mathematical activities based on geometry. The sample of the study is made up of 142 subjects of 4th and 5th primary education from a centre in A Coruña. The data collection tools used were: a questionnaire and direct observation. After completing the project and analysing the results of the poll, it can be noted that there was an improvement in the responses. After an analysis of the paired data, it was found that in four items have a significant difference. These data were supported by the qualitative tools. In conclusion, it can be indicated that magic tricks improve the interest and motivation of students in the area of mathematics. This study is part of the doctorate of the researcher in which several centres are involved so that the data can be modified.
