Abstract
[Abstract] The Foreign Language classroom is the perfect melting pot where to implement conscious and well-planned axiological practices to solve the social problems of our days. In the early nineties, the LOGSE states cross-curricular education as the framework where to insert the teaching of values. Nowadays, educating the new generations for tolerance and respect towards othemess is of core importance in the globalized, multicultural, and intercultural world we live in. In order to achieve this objective, we propose the didactic use of poetry in the EFL classroom as a means to foster values such as cooperation, understan- ding, othemess and tolerance towards those aspects which convey different identities.
