Abstract

[Abstract]: Molecular docking is a computational approach used to predict how small molecules (ligands) interact with the active components of target proteins. Through these simulations, it is possible to gain insights into the binding poses and affinities that govern their interactions. This in silico strategy has become a cornerstone of modern drug discovery, as it enables researchers to rapidly explore large collections of chemical compounds while reducing the need for costly experimental studies. Despite its potential, molecular docking often demands technical expertise, complex software setups, and manual file management, which can limit its accessibility to a broader audience. To address this challenge, our project proposes the creation of a user-friendly web platform that streamlines the entire docking workflow within a browser environment. Through this platform, users can easily choose molecular structures, run docking simulations with AutoDock Vina, and retrieve their results without the need for advanced computational skills. To further enhance usability, the system integrates an interactive chatbot powered by the OpenAI API, offering real-time guidance, troubleshooting, and contextual information about the experiments. In addition, an embedded molecular viewer based on 3Dmol.js enables detailed visualization of ligand–protein interactions, providing an intuitive way to interpret docking outcomes.
