Parque Temático de la Minería de Galicia (Fontao, Vila de Cruces)

Abstract

[Abstract] his work summarizes the prefeasibility study of Galicia Mining Park, which pretends to restore the ancient Sn-W Fontao Mine (Vila de Cruces), recovering its geological and mining heritage. In this way recoverable galleries, buildings and other industrial facilities are described, suggesting their new usage and the necessary capital investment. To sum up, it is thought to open a 20 ha park, recovering two underground galleries and whole open pit. Three museums are proposed: Minerals and Fossils, Galicia Mining and Granite and Slate Rocks, all them should be located in mine ancient buildings. Besides, it is planned to recover the concentation plant and create a large natural park
