El funcionamiento del mercado laboral en la UEM

Abstract

[Resumen] En este trabajo se analiza la evolución del desempleo en la UEM para averiguar si la integración monetaria y económica de sus países miembros ha venido acompañada de una convergencia en las condiciones del mercado de trabajo. Es decir, la creación de la UEM, en la década de los 90, supuso la integración en términos financieros de los países que la forman, pero ¿se puede considerar que también se ha producido en los mercados laborales? ¿Ha habido una equiparación en los niveles de desempleo? Trataremos de dar respuesta a estas preguntas haciendo hincapié en conocer si se ha producido una relación a largo plazo entre las tasas de paro juvenil, femenino y de larga duración de Alemania, España, Francia, Italia y Portugal.[Abstract] This paper analyzes the evolution of unemployment in the EMU to investigate whether the monetary and economic integration of its member countries has been accompanied by convergence in labor market conditions. In other words, the creation of EMU in the 90's has led to the financial integration of its countries, but also may it be said that the latter has also happened in labor markets? Have there been similar unemployment levels? We aim to find answers to these questions and to focus specifically on investigating whether there has been a long-term relationship between the rates of youth, female and long-term unemployment in Germany, Spain, France, Italy and Portugal.
