Variaciones de la bruja en las reescrituras de la bella durmiente de Walt Disney Pictures

Abstract

[Resumen] Se analiza el diálogo hipertextual entre el hipotexto literario La Bella Dur-miente de Charles Perrault y las reescrituras fílmicas La Bella Durmiente (1959) y Ma-léfica (2014), realizadas por Walt Disney Pictures mediante dibujos animados e ima-gen real, respectivamente. Además, se comentan los cambios experimentados por el arquetipo hada-bruja Maléfica tras su profundización psicológica y su consideración como protagonista o antagonista. A partir de un diseño metodológico mixto, basado en el análisis de contenido, se categorizan las reescrituras y se comparan los capítulos/secuencias entre la obra literaria y las películas. Los resultados evidencian los juegos in-tertextuales entre las reescrituras y el cuento, que se ajustan al contexto de producción y tienen en cuenta la preocupación social al representar a las mujeres en el cine. La dis-cusión final destaca la vigencia de los relatos de tradición oral que siguen fascinando a audiencias de todas las edades mediante nuevos lenguajes en auge con potencialidades educativas, como el fílmico, que reinterpreta motivos y personajes, a favor del empode-ramiento femenino y la desmitificación del amor romántico.

[Abstract] This work analyses the hyper-textual dialogue between the literary hypo-text Sleeping Beauty by Charles Perrault and the film rewrites Sleeping Beauty (1959) and Maleficent (2014), by Walt Disney Pictures in cartoon and live-action respectively. In addition, the changes experienced by the fairy-witch archetype Maleficent after her psychological deepening and her consideration as protagonist or antagonist are discussed. Using a mixed methodological design, based on content analysis, the re-writings are categorized and the chapters/sequences between the literary work and the films are compared. The results reveal intertextual interplays between the rewritings and the story, which are adjusted to the context of production and take into account the social concern in representing women in film. The final discussion highlights the validity of oral tradition tales that continue to fascinate audiences of all ages through new languages with educational potential, such as film, which reinterprets motifs and characters in favor of female empowerment and the demystification of romantic love.
