Abstract
afectadas a medio y largo plazo, adoptando
las medidas oportunas para su tratamiento.
[Abstract] Respiratory Physiotherapy (RP) is paramount in the prevention and treatment of the respiratory complications in burned patients, main source of morbidity and mortality in this group of patients. Airway clearance and alveolar opening are key objectives in respiratory physiotherapy for the prevention of infections and atelectasis. Besides, it plays a fundamental role in the extubation process in mechanically ventilated patients, helping to the autonomous control of the airway patency and improving the respiratory muscles ventilator capacity. Once surpassed the acute phase, it is needed to control the respiratory function evolution and the functional capacity of the subjects, that may be affected in the medium and long term, adopting the timely measures for his treatment.
