Abstract
[Abstract] The sedimentary basin ofMeirama (A Coruña, N. W. Spain), is developed over a strike slipe fault of regional magnitude, whose movements controles in the past tightly the character and sedimentation proccesses there and determine the basin morphology and the deformation suffered by the sediments. The sedimentary register at Meirama is represented by one essentially lignitiferous unit and three other terrigenous-detrital. The nature and facies showed by the sediments are not constants within each one unit and depends fundamentally at the source area for each unit, either the metasediments of Ordes (Ordenes) Serie (S-Se basin marge) or the granodiorite of Xalo unit (N-NW bassin marge).
