Castanhas e cascavelhos - ou como un rexionalismo do Miño evidencia a relación entre as vivencias e a lingua

Abstract

[Resumo] A partir da palavra “cascavelho” utilizada por um entrevistado do Perfil Sociolinguístico da Fala Bracarense1 (e dado o facto de que nenhum dicionário da Língua Portuguesa a regista), efetuou-se um conjunto de mais de 500 inquéritos feitos no Norte de Portugal para tentar perceber: 1. A atual existência ou não da palavra no léxico regional da zona geográfica que inclui a fala bracarense; 2. A dimensão sócio-cognitiva que a palavra evidencia; 3. A relação entre o conhecimento da palavra e as dimensões regionais e etárias; 4. O léxico como um sistema aberto, composto por unidades que foram estruturantes, mas que podem desaparecer sem (quase) deixarem vestígios[Abstract] Starting from the word “cascavelho” found in the project Perfil Sociolinguístico da Fala Bracarense and given the fact that no dictionary of the Portuguese language includes it, we carried out a set of more than 500 inquiries conducted in the North of Portugal trying to understand: 1 If the word is still used in the lexicon of the regional variety area; 2 The social-cognitive dimension revealed by this word; 3 The relationship between the uses and the meaning of this word and some regional and age dimensions; 4. The lexicon as an open system, once composed by several main words that can now disappear from the living lexicon without leaving any traces of existence
