Abstract

"This paper presents the design and development of a management application tailored to the needs of independently operated optical establishments in Spain. While the optical sector is partly dominated by large franchises that utilize extensive management systems, and specialized clinics requiring advanced operational support, independent optical businesses often prioritize efficiency, agility, and customer experience over complex functionalities. However, current software solutions are predominantly designed for franchises and clinics, which poses challenges for smaller establishments. These businesses are often forced to adopt expensive, complex systems that do not align with their operational needs, complicating daily tasks and introducing unnecessary features.

The proposed solution is a lightweight management application that addresses the essential needs of independent optical establishments, avoiding the advanced options typically needed in software for larger franchises and clinics. The application streamlines everyday operations using NFC technology for quick and easy customer identification and enhances customer interaction with products through a mobile application, reducing the need for staff intervention."
