Del museo a la virtualidad en el espacio expositivo. Un recorrido por ejemplos pioneros a lo largo del S. XX

Abstract

[Resumen] Las nuevas tecnologías han incidido en el mundo del arte transformando algunos de los aspectos que se entendían como parte intrínseca de la definición de objeto artístico: la originalidad, el museo como institución de poder y lugar físico, etc. Esta situación, ya plenamente asumida en la actualidad, se ha ido forjando a lo largo del siglo XX, en el que el espacio expositivo ha actuado como laboratorio creativo para la experimentación con los nuevos medios. Un recorrido por diversos ejemplos en los que se evidencia el paso del museo y del objeto de arte tradicional al espacio virtual contemporáneo, permite identificar una serie de autores como pioneros en este cambio de paradigma y entenderlo no solo como un cambio de herramientas, sino como la suma de procesos creativos que han sabido leer su presente y apuntar hacia el futuro.[Abstract] New technologies have had an impact on the art world, transforming some of the aspects that were understood as an intrinsic part of the definition of the art object, such as originality or the museum as an institution of power and physical place. This situation, now fully accepted, was forged throughout the 20th century, in which exhibition spaces acted as a creative laboratory for experimentation with new media. A journey through various examples of the transition from the museum and the traditional art object to the contemporary virtual space allows us to identify a series of authors as pioneers in this change of paradigm and to understand it not only as a change of tools, but also as the sum of creative processes that have been able to read their present and point towards the future.
