M3D is a project designed to promote the creation and sharing of 3D digital twins of medical instruments and promote their use in interactive applications, primarily for educational and research purposes. This project aims to facilitate the creation of 3D models with enough geometric details, allowing the differentiation between various types of surgical instruments, with a quality that enables their professional use for teaching in healthcare training centers. This project has been mainly developed by undergraduate students coursing a degree in digital creation, animation, and videogames, under the multidisciplinary supervision of professionals from both, the technical and healthcare domains. All 3D models have been publicly released under a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license at https://instrum3d.citic.udc.es.es_ES
