Reconversión y recalificación en tres actos de la fachada marítima de A Coruña (Galicia)

Abstract

[Resumen]: En esta comunicación se analiza la progresiva privatización y rehabilitación de la fachada litoral del centro urbano de A Coruña (Galicia), a partir de la liberalización de amplios espacios industriales-portuarios y su venta a promotores inmobiliarios. Esta operación se estructura en tres grandes fases: primero, la “turistificación” del área de la Mariña; segundo, la privatización de los terrenos del complejo deportivo “La Solana” y del Hotel Finisterre; y, tercero, la próxima reurbanización de los llamados “puertos interiores” desafectados de la ciudad. El objetivo principal de la presente comunicación, en definitiva, es el de abordar de manera crítica el proyecto de reestructuración del entorno portuario de A Coruña y su impacto en la composición morfológica, social y económica del centro histórico, inscribiendo esta intervención dentro de la metáfora de la ciudad como “máquina de crecimiento y de entretenimiento”.[Abstract]: This communication analyses the progressive privatization and rehabilitation of the waterfront of the urban centre of A Coruña (Galicia) from the liberalization of large industrial-port spaces and its sale to real estate developers. This operation is structured in three major phases: first, the “touristification” of the Mariña area; second, the privatization of the grounds of the sports complex "La Solana" and the Hotel Finisterre; and, third, the next redevelopment of the so-called "inner ports" of the city. The main objective of this communication, in short, is to critically address the project of restructuring the whole in the port area of A Coruña and its impact on the morphological, social and economic composition of its historic centre, framing this intervention within the metaphor of the city as a "growth and entertainment machine".
