Abstract
[Abstract] Detection and monitoring of antimicrobial resistance are two pillars on which clinical microbiology will be based in the coming decades. The implementation of certain technologies such as whole genome sequencing (WGS) or mass spectrometry and the creation of national and international databases that include and gather data on antimicrobial resistance from around the world has allowed the application of bioinformatics in the study of antimicrobial resistance in microorganisms involved in human pathology.
