Abstract
[Abstract] In the last decades, studies of argumentation have been revitalized as a result of the incre-
asing interest in language use and dialogical interaction. Then, some theoretical issues
become central. Firstly, the transdisciplinarity of the field points to an important issue: the
possible relationship concerning the objects of study developed by Logic, Rhetoric and
Language Sciences. Secondly, if speaking is (inter)acting, it is crucial to focus on the dis-
tinction between the concept of language argumentativity and the more restricted concept
of argumentation as a form of discourse organization. Finally, different approaches of argu-
mentation in language (Ducrot’s theory) and in discourse raise the issue of microanalysis
and macro-analysis of discourse argumentation. We intend to explore the relationships lin-
king those topics of investigation in a particular text, part of a debate of Portuguese
Parliamentary Discourse.
