Abstract
[Abstract]: Racism and xenophobia constitute one of the most serious social problems of 2026, manifesting in all areas of daily life. At the same time, the growing digitalization of social interaction has driven an exponential growth of Large Language Models (LLMs) and chatbot applications, influencing the decisions of millions of people worldwide. These models are trained on enormous amounts of data, which may include misinformation and hate content, particularly affecting sensitive topics such as racism and xenophobia. In response to this issue, the NGO Ecos do Sur developed a specialized Telegram chatbot that combats misinformation through decision trees, thus ensuring greater control over the information provided. Focusing on racism, this existing chatbot offers advice and legal information, provided by experts, for taking action when a racialized person suffers an unjust situation. In this Bachelor’s Thesis, we extend this approach by developing a cross-platform mobile application that uses the previously developed chatbot, strengthens the organization’s digital presence and adds additional functionalities. In a complementary manner, new content on racist and xenophobic violence on social media is developed for the existing chatbot. The application, built with React Native, TypeScript and Expo, offers a chat system with user management, incognito mode, educational resources on rights and the fight against racism, internationalization, and a comprehensive administration panel for user management and statistics. The result is a free, open-source and easily scalable tool that provides quality resources and support to people who suffer racism and xenophobia, adapting to the needs of today’s society.
