[Resumen] En este trabajo se recuerdan los orígenes de la lexicografía en España y Portugal, se incorporan datos sucintos de la vida y obra de Covarrubias por ser conocidos y por haberle dedicado en las últimas décadas varios estudios (Henríquez 2021: 78-147). Se aborda la descripción de los principios generales de la ortografía de Pereira, por ser un tema fundamental de su obra. Se elabora un estudio comparativo de los proverbios y refranes de Covarrubias y los adagios de Pereira, se comentan las variantes y se incorpora un anexo que contiene 102 ejemplos, en español y portugués.
[Abstract] In this work the origins of lexicography in Spain and Portugal are recalled and succinct data on the life and work of Covarrubias are given, since we have devoted several studies to him in recent decades (Henríquez 2021: 78-147). The general principles of Pereira’s orthography are described, as it is a fundamental theme of his work. A comparative study of the proverbs and sayings of Covarrubias and the adages of Pereira is carried out, respective variants are discussed and an annex containing 102 examples, in Spanish and Portuguese, is added.
