[Resumen] El trabajo da a conocer una inédita poética de Giovan Ambrogio Biffi (sec. XVI-XVII), erudito milanés cercano al círculo de Ericio Puteano, quien, con motivo de las críticas que acompañaron la aparición de su poema heroico, La Risorgente Roma, decidió entrar de lleno en la añeja controversia acerca del estatuto de la Poesía y la necesidad o menos de someter la creación artística a códigos normativos tanto formales como exegéticos. La Difesa se inscribe en una ideografía de ‘compromiso’, típica de la fase final del debate, a medio camino entre el naturalismo idealístico neoplatónico y el paradigma prescriptivo neoaristotélico
[Abstract] In this article is studied an unpublished poetics of Giovan Ambrogio Biffi (sec. XVI-XVII), a Milanese scholar near the circle of Ericio Puteano, who, on the occasion of the controversy that accompanied the publication of his heroic poem La Risorgente Roma, decided to enter into the old controversy about the status of poetry and the need to submit the artistic creation to normative codes both formal and exegetical. The Difesa is inscribed in an ideography of 'commitment', typical of the final phase of the debate between Neoplatonic idealistic naturalism and the neoaristotelian prescriptive paradigm
