Notas etimológicas sobre guizque y sus variantes en iberorromance

Abstract

[Resumen] En este artículo se estudian guizque y sus variantes en iberorromance para determinar su etimología. El análisis fonético y semántico de estas variantes permite proponer la hipótesis de que guizque y sus congéneres podrían pertenecer a la familia de avispa, teniendo, por tanto, su origen etimológico en las voces latinas VESPAM,VESPULAM, *VESPERAM.[Abstract] In this article, guizque and its variants in Ibero-Romance are studied in order to determine their etymology. The phonetic and semantic analysis of these variants suggests that guizque and the other words of its kind could belong to the lexical family of avispa, having, therefore, their etymological origin in the Latin words VESPAM,VESPULAM, *VESPERAM.
