Abstract
[Abstract] This article looks at the content of two journalistic YouTube channels, La Mesa de Centro and La Pulla, linked to lasillavacía.com and elespectador.com, respectively. The aim of the study is to identify common features between the two in terms of their conception of media platforms, new media and the hybrid media system, bastard journalism and cybercultural journalistic convergence. The study involves a formal analysis of the videos uploaded by both between December 2019 and February 2020 to identify similarities between them and assess how media convergence on YouTube has resulted in a mutant, bastard form of journalism: part journalistic narration and interpretation of events, part YouTuber spectacle and performance.
