Abstract
[Abstract] Cruise tourism is a tourism product that has experienced significant growth in the ports of the Spanish coast in the last two decades. This article focuses on the problem linked to the seasonality of cruise traffic from the perspective of the ports located in the Iberian Peninsula. The indicator used for this analysis is the movement of cruise passengers during the period 2012-2018. The main objective is to analyze the seasonality of cruise traffi c to identify its own pattern of behavior and identify possible changes in seasonality during the period analyzed. Determining the pattern of seasonality will allow us to conclude whether there is seasonal complementarity between cruise passenger traffi c and that of visitors staying in hotel establishments. An analysis oriented to the final objective of providing a series of counter-seasonal suggestions and planning strategies aimed at mitigating the consequences of said seasonality as far as possible.
