Abstract
[Resumen] Cambios climáticos, neotectónica, capturas fluviales y oscilaciones eustáticas forman un sistema geodinámico complejo que determina la morfogénesis del curso inferior del Río de Aguas. La cronología de los registros deposicionales (pedimento PI, abanicos aluviales 51 y 52, glacis y terrazas fluviales Gl, G2, TI, T2, G3, T3, T4, H), que se inscriben desde el Villafranquiense hasta el Holoceno, ha podido establecerse gracias a los siguientes parámetros: morfología y sedimentología, evolución de suelos, dataciones absolutas de U/Th Ypresencia de industria lítica.
[Abstract] Changes in climate, tectonics, river capture and eustatic oscil1ation of the base level of erosion determine the Pleistocene morphogenesis of the lower Río de Aguas valIey. The chronology of the deposit units (pediment PI, aluvial fans 51 and 52, levels of glacis and fluvial terraces Gl, G2, TI, T2, G3, T3, T4, H) covering the period from VilIafranchian to Holocene has been established by morphological, sedimentological and areal photograph surveys, pedological field studies, Th/U dating, as welI as artefacts.
