Abstract
aprendizajes.
[Abstract] Plagiarism is one of the key elements of the lack of ethical integrity present in the educational field. It infringes upon intellectual property and violates authorship rights; in addition, it attacks the principle of the European Higher Education Area in the university context. Therefore, actions aimed at eradicating these practices are carried out, mainly, through three ways: prevention, organization and coercion, being needed to know the students’perspective as one of the main agents involved. The objective of this study is to determine what are the actions proposed by the students to avoid plagiarism in academic works. The sample consists of 695 students of the degrees of the Faculty of Education Sciences of the University of A Coruña. The Questionnaire for the detection of coincidences in academic works (CUDECO) was applied. It includes an open qualitative question about their opinion concern to the possible ways to avoid academic plagiarism in the university context. The results are disparate, highlighting actions to be developed by the Universities, from repressive to preventive and organizational measures. The students' own responsibility in the eradication of plagiarism are the least recognised. In short, the perspective of students focuses on attributing the responsibility of avoiding plagiarism to external factors: teachers, sanctioning measures, simplification of style rules, ... against the self-regulation of their learning.
