Abstract

[Abstract] In contrast to current, predominantly urban approaches and theoretical frames, this study proposes a methodology that integrates a gender perspective into the design phase of planning for rural areas, structured in four phases: analysis of materiality, construction of the theoretical framework, rural diagnosis with a gender perspective, and definition of indicators. Applying this approach to the case of Galicia makes it possible to identify aspects that traditional rural planning processes tend to overlook, highlighting the value of incorporating the gender perspective from the earliest stages of design. Based on this experience, we present a methodology that is open and adaptable to other regions, integrating the gender perspective into rural territorial planning through a specific approach that differs from urban precedents, promoting equitable and inclusive strategies for sustainable development.
