Nuevas perspectivas de las voces en off femeninas en las producciones televisivas contemporáneas. Poder, libertad y ambigüedad en serie

Abstract

[Resumen] En el contexto de la “Quality TV” la ficción televisiva está recuperando la voz en off que se resignifica e integra de diversas formas dentro del relato. Frente a la concepción clásica de la voz en off masculina –omnipresente, omnisciente y omnipotente– en las series contemporáneas surgen diversas voces femeninas que vehiculan una parte de la historia y apelan a la audiencia de múltiples formas. El objeto del presente estudio ha sido el de analizar el papel de las voces femeninas en la ficción televisiva actual, especialmente en aquellas series que cuentan con un empleo innovador de estas voces en off atendiendo a su relación con su fuente o imagen. Partiendo del análisis del discurso crítico como metodología de investigación se llevó a cabo el estudio de las voces de El cuento de la criada, Por trece razones, La Casa de las Flores y Alias Grace desde la perspectiva de su corporalización. Un análisis que permitió determinar tres manifestaciones diferentes de liberación y poder de estas voces en off femeninas: a través de la muerte, como forma de resistencia o de narradora poco fiable.

[Abstract] In the context of “Quality TV” television fiction is recovering the voice-off that is resignified and integrated in different ways within the story. In contrast to the classical conception of the male voice-off –omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent– in contemporary series, diverse female voices arise that convey a part of the story and appeal to the audience in multiple ways. The object of the present study has been to analyse the role of female voices in current television fiction, especially in those series that have an innovative use of these voices in off according to their relationship with their source or image. Taking Critical Discourse Analysis as a research methodology, the voices of The Handmaid’s Tale, 13 Reasons Why, The House of Flowers y Alias were studied from the perspective of their embodiment. An analysis that has identified three different manifestations of the liberation and power of these female voices-off: through death, as a form of resistance or as an unreliable narrator.
