[Resumen] Psychiatric reform of the 70's which enabled the large long-stay psychiatric facilities, resulted in many of those admitted for a chronic mental illness are unable to access certain health and social resources due to their lack or not having enough, this situation created the concept of "homeless."
The current situation of this social group creates several problems in mental health, recorded both as a cause, as a reaction to the situation of homelessness. When homelessness co-exists with mental illness, providing care and services to people is significantly complicated, that's when interventions become ineffective, either because there was either not be suitable for existing.
Occupational Therapy covers a number of strategies and resources to coordinate both to the individual person and social resources necessary for the development of an effective therapeutic plan.
This research project aims to study the perceptions of homeless people about their own situation and identify the different problems presented in terms of mental health symptoms caused by illness, so it is possible to establish a set of guidelines action that allow us to create strategies for social inclusion.
