Abstract
[Abstract]: This chapter deals with institutional judicial independence, which in Spain is enshrined in the Constitution of 1978. It goes along with a strict regulation of the judicial profession, judges being heald accountable for their acts and subject to the rule of law, with potential disciplinary sanctions. There is no judicial independence without liability.
 
[Resumen]: En este capítulo se aborda la independencia judicial institucional, que en España está consagrada en la Constitución de 1978. Va acompañada de una estricta regulación de la carrera judicial, siendo los jueces responsables de sus actos y sometidos al imperio de la ley, con posibles sanciones disciplinarias. No hay independencia judicial sin responsabilidad.
 
[Resumo]: Neste capítulo abórdase a independencia xudicial institucional, que en España está recollida na Constitución de 1978. Vai acompañada dunha estrita regulación da carreira xudicial, sendo os xuíces responsables da súa actuación e suxeitos ao Estado de Dereito, con posibles sancións disciplinarias. Non hai independencia xudicial sen responsabilidade.
