Relaciones entre la monarquía Hispánica y el reino de Galicia: el papel de los Diputados Generales del Reino

Abstract

[Resumen] El trabajo estudia el papel del Diputado General del Reino de Galicia en la corte, en su función de gestión de los asuntos de este territorio ante la monarquía hispánica. La hipótesis de partida es que su tarea de ejercer como la voz del reino, instando en Madrid la ejecución de los acuerdos tomados en las Juntas del Reino, no se llevará a cabo por atender este oficio a intereses localistas o personales. El sistema de nombramiento se encontrará detrás de toda esta problemática, puesto que la designación por turnos entre las siete ciudades que integran las Juntas del Reino traerá un sinfín de problemas.

[Abstract] This work analyzes the role of the “Diputado General” of the Kingdom of Galicia in the court, in its function of managing the affairs of this territory in the Hispanic monarchy. The starting hypothesis is that its task of acting as the voice of the kingdom, urging in Madrid the execution of the agreements taken in the “Juntas del Reino”, will not be carried out by responding to local or personal interests. The election system will find itself behind all this problematic. The appointment by turns of the seven cities that integrate the “Juntas del Reino” will bring an endless number of problems.
