Abstract
[Abstract] Within the group of Japanese loanwords used in current Spanish, we can set up a
miscellaneous group, constituted by three-word subgroups: three words for botany, three for economics
and three for medicine. For the first time concerning Spanish, these nine Japanese loanwords are
described thoroughly from a formal, semantic and historical perspective in the present article. Further,
the degree of adaptation of these loanwords within the Spanish lexical inventory will be indicated
