Abstract
[Resumo] O Centro de Pesquisas e Conservação da Natureza Pró-Mata é uma área protegida pertencente à Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, localizada no Município de São Francisco de Paula (RS). Com grande beleza cênica em seus mais de três mil hectares, seu objetivo primordial é conservação e pesquisa ambiental. Recebe grupos de alunos, professores e pesquisadores dessa universidade e de outras instituições de ensino superior. A abertura do local para diferentes usuários como alunos do Ensino Básico do município e funcionários da PUCRS está diversificando o uso do espaço e demonstrando suas possibilidades. Esta pesquisa propôs-se identificar e analisar a percepção ambiental de diferentes grupos que frequentaram o local entre 2012 e 2013. Através da análise de questionários abertos e observação participante dos grupos, foi possível atestar que além de cumprir expectativas das propostas pedagógicas, e de ser um lugar que propicia múltiplas interações ambiente-pessoa, o Pró-Mata permite a vivência de uma experiência estética sensibilizante. Essa experiência pode oferecer à educação ambiental a superação da extrema racionalização imposta pelo pensamento moderno, que enfraqueceu a poética e o imaginário, na medida em que é capaz do despertar de uma ética construída pela abertura às vivências do ser no-do mundo [Abstract] The Center of Research and Conservation of Nature Pro-Mata is a protected area belonging to PUCRS, located in Sao Francisco de Paula (RS). The place has great scenic beaty in its more than 3000 hectares and its primary prupose in environmental conservation and research. It welcomes groups of students, teachers and researchers of the university and other accredited universities. The opening of the site for different users such as students of basic education of Sao Francisco de Paula and PUCRS's staff is diversifying the use of the space and demonstrating its possibilities. This research aimed identify and analyze the environmental perception of nine different groups that visited the Center between 2012 and 2013. Through the analysis of open questionnaires and participant observation in each group, it was possible to attest that besides being able to meet the expectations of the educational proposals, and being a place that provides multiple person-environment interactions, Pro-Mata allows a sensitizing aesthetic experience. The aesthetic experience can offer to the education the overcome of the extreme rationalization imposed by the consolidation of modern thought that has weakened the poetic and the imaginary, in that it is capable of awakening an ethic built by openness to experiences of being in the world.
